Fall teacher transfer opportunities for the 2009-10 school year closed June 15th. Mid-year teacher transfer opportunities for the 2009-10 school year will begin December 15th and end January 16th. To apply to transfer for a posted position during the transfer window, please complete and submit the Transfer Request form to the Human Resources Department’s Teacher Recruitment Center by the posted closing date and time. Transfer Request forms must be signed by your principal.

NEW HIGH SCHOOL POSITIONS: Personnel selected to staff the new high school in Herriman will be placed on the Jordan School District salary schedule. Current JSD employees may apply for licensed positions at the new high school in Herriman by submitting a letter of interest (signed by the employee's principal or director) and resume to Human Resources. A new application will not be necessary for current JSD licensed employees.

Career & Technical Education Coordinator

Position requires secondary license, CTE endorsement and Masters Degree for position available January 19, 2010. The ability to manage, coordinate and administrate CTE programs in the high school and feeder middle schools. Coordinate with Work-Based Learning, Career Center, and Vocational Specialists. Prepare budgets for both high school and middle school funds. Prepare and review reports and audits as well as resolve and clarify existing purchase orders. Be instrumental in the registration for high school CTE programs and Jordan Applied Technogy Centers programs. Possess working knowledge of computers and computer programs. Assist in personnel issues for CTE Department. Counsel new and existing students about career pathway's and CWE placement. Promote teachers and student involvement in CTSO's. Participate in strategic summer planning and administrative meetings in the high school and middle school. Works well with others as a team and a team leader.

Library Media Specialist Library Media Certificate required for position available July 1, 2010. Ability to organize and maintain a large school media center, including: supervising employees, running copy machines, having a knowledge of audio visual equipment, and computer expertise.

Because this position is in a new high school you will be working closely with the principal head secretary in ordering equipment, books, furniture, computers, etc. therefore, a good knowledge of what is needed to open a media center would be extremely helpful.

Special Education Team Leader

Special Education Mild/Moderate endorsement required for position available July 1, 2010. Position requires knowledge of federal law regarding students with special needs and the ability to make sure the needs of those students are being met. The team leader will work with a staff of other teachers, as well as students and adult aides. The team leader will also work closely with the school psychologist and other school personnel including regular ed. teachers, counselors, speech pathologist, and the administration.

Because this position is in a new high school the team leader will be involved in the interviewing of other staff members to be employed, and in the ordering of equipment, supplies, etc. in order to set up the Special Education Department.

Chairs as part of the initial School Leadership team, with additional responsibilities which may include: District committees, knowledge of District policies, knowledge of budgets, knowledge of rules and procedures of the Utah High School Activities Association, and organizational and scheduling skills.
